Matt McGhee is a Partner of Bluprint Ventures. Prior to launching Bluprint, Matt spent nearly 20 years in leadership and executive roles at Highland Homes, one of the largest private homebuilders in Texas.

Most notably, Matt founded and led HHS Residential, Highland’s Build-to-Rent (BTR) development platform. Recognizing the early momentum in the purpose-built single-family rental sector, Matt helped shape Highland’s strategic entry into the space. In 2018, he was appointed Senior Vice President to launch and grow HHS Residential, with a mission to deliver high-quality, community-focused rental homes tailored to evolving market needs.

Under Matt’s leadership, HHS Residential rapidly became a key player in the BTR market across Texas. Partnering with top institutional investors, the company assembled a pipeline of over 20 projects comprising more than 2,500 homes and deployed more than $800 million in development capital. HHS established deep in-house expertise across land sourcing and entitlement, horizontal development, architectural and community planning, and vertical construction management.

Earlier in his career at Highland, Matt served as Director of Land and held multiple leadership roles within the Houston division, overseeing both construction and sales operations. Matt holds a Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University. He lives in Montgomery, Texas with his wife, Chelsey, and their three sons.
